38th District Republicans Release TV Spot Attacking Dems

The spot accuses Dems of raising taxes and deficit spending

Editor's Note: A re-post of a campaign commercial does not equal an endorsement.

Republican Senate candidate John Driscoll and his Assembly running mates, Richard Goldberg and Fernando Alonso, released their first television ad of the campaign season Monday.

President Barack Obama's disembodied head floats on the screen for much of the spot, as the voiceover chides opponents Bob Gordon, Connie Wagner and Tim Eustace for "following Washington's failed policies," a decision that the ad says has "destroyed our economy."

I find it interesting how the Republicans can say in this ad how bad NJ is and in ads touting Christie they say how good it is. I also find it interesting that when they came into power they laid off state and local public employees then have the nerve to complain about high unemployment. Nationally, we were on the right track and getting better until January, when the Republican Congress took over with their campaign promise that is was all about jobs. I will not reward a party with my vote when they have done nothing but obstruct any progress trying to be made in order to regain power.

Actually Lenny, Christie's 2% cap only means you're guaranteed a 2% increase whether it's needed or not, just to keep the options open for the next fiscal year. Or ask the people of Ridgewood who got a 7% increase this year. However, Christie's property tax reform did take away my Homestead Rebate which amounted to nearly 1/4 of my property taxes. So basically he raised my property taxes about 20%. When the rebate came back this year it was $200 as opposed to the $1100 it used to be. This was done to me and every senior or low income person in NJ that owns property. He did see fit to eliminate the millionaire's tax though in order to "spur the job creators". Two years later and we still have higher unemployment than the national average. There's the class warfare.
