Advance Auto Parts at the corner of River Road and South Maple held its grand opening Saturday afternoon.

Mayor Jeanne Baratta, Deputy Mayor John Cosgrove and members of the Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce were out to recognize Advance, which opened for business on March 26.

Following Saturday's ribbon cutting ceremony, Advance Auto Parts presented a $1,000 oversized check to the United Way.

Throughout the day, Advance employees manned a booth with free drinks, chips and hot dogs for customers alongside a display of custom motorcycles built by River Road’s own Tribal Iron Choppers.

In addition to offering customers a wide range of parts and national brands, the store provides a number of free services including windshield wiper and battery installation following a complimentary check of a vehicle's electrical system and old battery.

The store also operates as a recycling hub where customers can drop off used motor oil and batteries.

Advance Auto Parts' operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
