Bites Nearby: Maria’s Kitchen Offers Home Cooking

Weekly feature highlights area eateries

Maria’s Kitchen brings a little bit of Mom’s cooking to Hasbrouck Heights. Owners Maria and John Dingertopadre have been serving up homemade goodness in a casual counter-style atmosphere for nearly a year with their grand opening occurring during the 2010 Hasbrouck Heights street fair.

There really is no occasion when Maria’s is not appropriate. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offering plenty of  casual seating, Maria’s has established itself as a local favorite.

Breakfast begins at 5 a.m. daily but the entire menu is always available. Fresh cold cuts, homemade deli salads, and hot specials round out the lunch menu. Dinner offers an extensive family style menu featuring house cured corned beef and pastrami to veal parmigiana and rigatoni al Amatriciana.

Lunch and dinner specials change daily but the full, robust menu is served all day, every day. Maria’s also offers two homemade soup choices daily. Everything is made fresh, from scratch, on premises.

Have a sweet tooth? Maria’s serves up classic Italian desserts including canolli and gelato.

Maria’s also offers a full catering menu and rents out its space for private parties.
