Borough Skate Park to Close

Council considering relocation after residents' complaints

Fair Lawn's skate park, which opened earlier this summer, will be closed down because of numerous complaints from residents, according to northjersey.com.

Residents have said that the youngsters were disrespectful and created potential problems with traffic safety and garbage.

After discussing several options, such as issuing ID cards and increasing park supervision, the council agreed to close the park immediately and look into finding another location in a non-residential area.

Just like Ricky Neldon said: "you can't please everyone"

Cut the kids some slack, they are outside having fun and not hiding in their homes on their computers.

Leave it to Fair Lawn to be the only town to assemble and dissemble a skate park in 30 days...waste of time and money. How about the disrespect to those who worked so hard to put this together.

Guilty until proven innocent in Fair Lawn? That's a shame.

Are you kidding me..Give these children a chance..They need a place to play and hang out in a nice manner..Have you seen the fields after adult soccer has been played..The yelling that comes from that...The water bottles left behind from those games..Come on let the children have a place to skate ..

good point margaret, they don't drain the pool when adults and kids break the rules, or tear up playgrounds when they litter and graffiti all over them....
