Car Flipped, Mangled in Broadway Collision; Driver Hospitalized
One woman was taken to the hospital with head pain Wednesday night after the car she was driving collided with another at the intersection of Broadway and Fair Lawn Parkway, and rolled over.
Police are piecing together the details of a two-car collision Wednesday night at the intersection of Broadway and Fair Lawn Parkway that flipped one car and sent its driver to the hospital with a head injury.
A black Honda CR-V headed westbound on Broadway struck a southbound white Lexus RX at the Fair Lawn Parkway intersection around 9 p.m., and rolled over, police said. Neither driver was seriously injured, but the CR-V's driver, who suffered a minor head injury, was stabilized, strapped to a gurney and taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.
Neither car had any passengers.
The rollover accident closed both of Broadway's westbound lanes at 32nd Street/Fair Lawn Parkway for about a half-hour and attracted dozens of onlookers who stood perched on either side of the highway surveying the wreck.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
