Cheer on Your Favorite Fair Lawn Group in Patch Survivor

A weekly NFL survivor pool that pits Fair Lawn's municipal departments and organizations against one another in a pigskin picking battle to the death!

In an effort to light a competitive fire under Fair Lawn's collective keister, we're launching a Patch NFL Survivor Pool this week that pits borough departments, groups and organizations against one another in a weekly battle of pigskin picking.

The rules are as follows:

  • Participating borough departments/groups/organizations pick one NFL team each week that they think will win its game.
  • If the team they pick wins, that department/group/organization lives to pick again the following week. If the team they pick loses, that department/group/organization is eliminated from the pool.
  • Departments/Groups/Organizations can only pick a team once during the entire season.
  • The pool ends when only one department/group/organization is left standing.

The results of this weekly competition will be posted on Patch and a yet to be determined prize will be awarded to the winners.

Week 1 picks:

Team Week 1 Pick Week 2
Police Department Baltimore Ravens
Fire Company 4 Arizona Cardinals
Library Atlanta Falcons
Sunrise Rotary Denver Broncos
Fair Lawn Athletic Club Baltimore Ravens
Cosmos Club Dallas Cowboys
Borough Council Baltimore Ravens
Patch Baltimore Ravens
All-Sports Washington Redskins
Inside Fair Lawn Green Bay Packers
The Inimitable Steve Brown Green Bay Packers

Ed. Note: If you belong to an organization and would like to represent them in Patch Survivor, just shoot me an email at zak.koeske@patch.com before your pick plays this week. The more competitors the merrier!

Its nice to see "AllSports" has time for this contest, yet this doesn't publish its books! What are they hiding?

I am familiar with 990s, they are very incomplete. In 2010 for example, All Sports spent 313k of which $95,125 was for "fees" who collected those fees? Why is the data hidden from the public? Even the council doesn't know. Back in March of this year, Trawinski asked “Do we get a justification for what these funds are used for?” The answer is NO we don't.

Doesn't spending 30%+ of the budget on fees sound a bit high? It maybe nothing, but the cover up is adding a stench. Parents may be over paying by 30% and wouldn't be the wiser to it.
