Sinter Klaas was on hand to meet with residents and children like 2 year old Ashley, to chat about the traditions of the Dutch Christmas and listen to everyones Christmas list.

The historic Garretson Forge and Farm held its annual Dutch Christmas celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event, which was free to the public, included Sinter Klaas, baked goods, craft tables and craft demonstrations.

Garretson Forge and Farm, which dates back to the 1700s and now functions as a Dutch farm museum, is one of the oldest historic sites in Bergen County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
