"Harlem Shake: Fair Lawn Car Dealership Edition," Uploaded on Feb. 20

Leave it to Fair Lawn -- already known for its wacky "Call Me Maybe" lip dub starring borough manager Tom Metzler -- to jump and gyrate all over the latest music video meme.

This week, employees at Jack Daniels Volkswagen in Fair Lawn uploaded a YouTube video of themselves shakin' in the dealership's showroom

For those uninitiated, the "Harlem Shake," not to be confused with the hip-hop dance from the 1980s, is a bass-laden instrumental track by dance music producer Baauer. Over the past few weeks, the song has sparked a veritable viral video craze with tens of thousands of fans from across the globe uploading their "Harlem Shake" videos online.

The approximately 30-second videos all begin with a single masked individual dancing alone in a group of people performing some mundane activity before jump cutting to an insane dance party featuring the entire group, often shirtless or dressed in costume and pelvic thrusting wildly.

FLHS videos are just awful. Cannot decide which one is the worst.

More waste of borough resources. At least this time we aren't paying many of the actors over $100,000/yr + benefits while they are making the videos.

i agree with you the borough resources comments are ridiculious, and its fine for kids to be acting silly like this. however as a 35 yr old parent i dont want to see barely clothed KIDS humping the air on my local news website.

Actually, sometimes the comments sound like they're coming from folks much younger then 16 - they just don't get it....always looking to find something to complain about.

Nothing wrong with just having some fun - just like the video we did for Ira Marks - everybody was having fun, on their own time, not while they were working,to salute a person who gave much to Fair Lawn.

ps - Heather, and everyone else, your " Team Lyra " interview should start to air on FLTV soon - scheduled to air at 8pm. - check it out.

Quest?

i dont know i got a very wide sense of humor but i find this very wierd. theres a time and place for everything, i dont think a website that i visit to get local news is the proper place for these types of videos. if i was on youtube or watching tosh.0 i wouldnt have a problem with this. but i felt very uncomfortable watching this. ive heard about the harlem shake viral videos but never seen them, i was expecting some silly dance moves, but people humping the air in underwear definetly caught me by suprise.
im all for fun videos, like the ira marks retirement call me maybe video was cute and tasteful. but barely clothed KIDS humping the air really zak?
i understand kids will be kids and i have no problem w/ them goofing around like this. i do have a bit of a problem with it being posted on a local news site.
zak i think you do a good job but showed some really poor judgement with this one. seriously its KIDS in underwear humping the air, you really thought that would be appropriate?
