Twitter is a way to receive and disseminate information in real time. The reason, as in this article, to follow these accounts is to get information about your town. That is why someone would follow a mayor, regardless of what party they belong. This has the potential be very helpful in emergency situations, say like after a major storm when many people have no power and it's Election Day and need to know what to do. It also has the potential to let a leader send out knowingly false information and trick a few people into not voting. Funny joke, huh?

i guess theres no nice way to say this but if someone read the tweet you posted above and didnt realize it was a joke and didnt vote because of it, that person is an idiot and its probably best for the country if someone that unintelligent didnt vote.

No, I believe you have some other problem. You may have a point if I ever questioned the right to appoint who one wants, which I never have done. ( I have questioned why these Republicans needed to pay their chosen ones much more than the people that served the same jobs in the past administration) I did however answer your way off topic question. i would have no reaction because i have an IQ higher than a door knob so i would immediately realize it was a joke. i dont find the joke too funny so i wouldnt laugh. therefore i would have no reaction if barack obama made a similar tweet to our mayor.
