Fair Lawn Jewish Center Announces Purim Fun Run and Carnival
The Fair Lawn Jewish Center/Congregation B'nai Israel's first annual Purim 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk will be held Sunday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m.
The Fair Lawn Jewish Center/Congregation B'nai Israel will turn its celebration of Purim into a two-week event this year, starting Sunday with its first Purim 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk.
Runners are encouraged to come in costume to the race, which starts and ends in the FLJC/CBI parking lot, located at 10-10 Norma Ave.
"This event is a great way to participate in a low-key, no-chip race where all the proceeds go to send special needs children to summer camp," communications director David Tratner said of the event, which begins at 11 a.m.
Registration is $18 and can be done beforehand or on the day of the event.
The following Sunday, March 3, FLJC/CBI will hold its annual Purim Carnival from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The entire community is invited to attend the carnival festivities and dress in costume. In addition to classic carnival games and traditional FLJC favorites like spin art and sand art, this year's carnival will also feature a new Angry Birds game and one-minute challenge games.
