FLHS Marching Band Wins Home Competition [PHOTOS]

Fair Lawn hosted its first outdoor marching band competition on Sunday, when five New Jersey high school bands and a college band traveled to Sasso Field for a 1 p.m. show.

The Fair Lawn High School Marching Band performs its 2012 show "Relic" during their first ever home hosted Marching Band Competition at Sasso Field.

The Fair Lawn High School Marching Band came out on top of all other Group IV Open Class bands that performed on Sunday at the school's first ever outdoor competition at Sasso Field.

The event featured performances by the Cutters and five other New Jersey high school bands, as well as an exhibition show by the College of Holy Cross Marching Band from Worcester, Mass.

Next weekend the band travels to Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium for the Bands of America Regional Championship. 

The band’s remaining competitive schedule includes the following performances:       

  • Oct. 27: Bands of America Regional Championship at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium
  • Oct. 28: Union High School
  • Nov. 3:  The USBands NJ State Championship in New Brunswick
  • Nov. 11: The USBands Open National Championship at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford
