Fatal Hit-and-Run in Teaneck, Glen Rock Assault Investigation Continues

- Police are looking for as many as four vehicles in a hit-and-run accident that killed a woman late Thursday night inTeaneck, authorities said.
- Police say a woman in a silver Volkswagen is believed to have had a medical issue that caused her to lose control of her vehicle, forcing her to crash through a stop sign and a home before coming to a rest at a residential fence on Grove Street in Ridgewood Tuesday afternoon.
- Two cars collided in Fair Lawn at the intersection of River Road and Fair Lawn Avenue around 8 p.m. Wednesday,injuring one woman and taking out two other cars that had been stopped at the red light.
- Glen Rock detectives are continuing an investigation into the assault and robbery of a 67-year-old woman Aug. 19, according to police. An unknown assailant attacked the woman from behind just before 11 p.m. in front of her Hillside Avenue home.
- A Christian congregation is looking to make the former Riverview Racquet Club on Henley Avenue in New Milfordtheir new home. The Planning Board heard Tuesday night from representatives of the Gospel Fellowship Church, who are looking to move their congregation to the former health club.
- Paramus is moving forward with plans to install traffic signals at the intersection of West Midland Avenue and Country Club Road. The Borough advertised for bids for the project, the cost of which is primarily being borne by Bergen Community College and the Ridgewood Country Club.
- The FBI may be close to identifying the man who robbed the Chase Bank in Fair Lawn nearly two months ago, Patch has learned.
- A Molotov cocktail appears to have been the cause of a fire early Sunday morning at the Delta gas station on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Lakes, Police Detective Lt. John Bakelaar told Patch on Monday.
- Previous discussions of outsourcing some of the work by the River Edge DPW was eliminated during Monday's Mayor and Council meeting. Instead, the two mechanics within the department will remain where they are, but have the added responsibility of performing preventative maintenance on each of the fire department's trucks.
- The Borough of Fort Lee is in the early stages of planning its involvement in a major Ironman triathlon competition that takes place next summer, and Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich says he’d like to see the borough take on a central role while taking the opportunity to turn it into an event the entire community can enjoy.
- The New Milford Mayor and Council will vote at their Sept. 12 meeting on whether or not they want to move forward with drafting an ordinance that would rezone the United Water property.
