Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Hey Fair Lawn: What Would You Like To Know?

Introducing "You Ask ... Patch Answers," a new weekly column that answers your burning questions about the borough

Have you ever wondered how Fair Lawn High School's athletic teams got the name "Cutters"? How cars that park in front of your home every night–violating Fair Lawn's overnight parking rules–don't get ticketed? Who offsets the cost when the volunteer ambulance corps provides services: The ambulance corps, the borough, you, or your insurance provider?

Patch will be providing the answers to local quandaries just like those in a new weekly column called "You Ask ... Patch Answers." Whether you're concerned about public safety, the municipal budget, schools, business, the history of Fair Lawn, or any other odds and ends, this column will cover it all.

But the best part is, we can't do this without your help. You'll submit the questions, we'll do the research, and an answer to one Fair Lawn dilemma will be published each Monday.

We need your questions to get started. This is your opportunity to solve that puzzle that's been keeping you up at night-but we're doing all the work for you! If you've got a question about anything in Fair Lawn, send it to Local Editor Jacob Kamaras at jacob.kamaras@patch.com, and he'll do his best to produce a detailed answer.

It gets event better: We will be offering Patch prizes for readers whose questions we answer. So please email us to get things going, and check back each Monday for "You Ask … Patch Answers."
