Wayne Robbins of "Inside Fair Lawn," takes us on a tour of artist Ruth Bauer Neustadter's work that's now on display at the Maurice Pine Library's Pine Gallery

Wayne Robbins of "Inside Fair Lawn," visited the 's Pine Gallery on Sunday to celebrate the opening reception for dancer, choreographer, teacher and three-dimensional artist .

Neustadter's exhibit, "No Boundaries," which contains assemblages and three-dimensional paintings, runs from March 4 through April 28.

"My former art form as modern dancer and choreographer has shifted quite naturally to a two-dimensional form," Neustadter said. "To compensate for the 'flatness', I build and build texture upon texture, so that the viewer is able to get kinesthetic response to my work, a desire to touch, to move into and around each piece."

Neustadter, who uses painting as a means of weaving together her varied passions, has transitioned from creating sculptures made of fiber and found objects into constructing assemblages, collages and totems.

"My heart pumps as I work - as though I were dancing," Neustadter said, explaining her creative process. "My energy, my passion for life and its complexities, and yes, the peace I feel as I layer material upon material, is timeless. Painting intertwines my many threads. It centers me. It is a mirror of myself. "
