Kerr, Calabrese Lead Lady Cutters into Sectional Semis

The Fair Lawn High School girls basketball team beat North Bergen Wednesday in the North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 quarterfinals of the state playoffs.

Two down, two to go.

Sophomore forward Alexandria Kerr dropped 20 points for the second time this week and senior Jen Calabrese added 15 on five threes Wednesday to lead the Lady Cutters past North Bergen, 60-51, and into the North Jersey sectional semifinals of the state tournament.

With Ridgewood -- who Fair Lawn blew out by 21 on Monday -- and now North Bergen out of the way, the much-improved Lady Cutters are into the final four of the North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 tournament.

The No. 3 seed Cutters (18-9) will try to punch their ticket to the sectional final on Friday when they face No. 2 Paterson Eastside (17-6).

The girls look great. The team and Coach Lovermi should be very proud. Keep on, girls!
