Latest PSEG Estimate Has Outages Extending Into Weekend
Power restoration efforts will continue in both Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook all week, according to PSEG's latest estimates.
PSEG's estimates for when power will be fully restored in Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook extend further with each passing day.
In the utility's latest estimates, released Monday morning, crews will continue working on both communities into the weekend.
By Sunday, Nov. 11, all but 18 customers in Fair Lawn and 155 in Saddle Brook should be restored.
Per PSEG's posted work schedule, crews should work extensively over the next three days in Fair Lawn -- where 38.3 percent of customers are still without power -- restoring all but about 70 unfortunate customers by midnight Wednesday.
The vast majority of Saddle Brook customers—85.8 percent—have power, but PSEG will continue restoring power to those still in the dark throughout the week, at a pace of about 110 per day.
Both communities appear fortunate when compared to the neighboring towns of Ridgewood and Glen Rock, which still had 59.5 percent and an astounding 91.3 percent without power, respectively, as of Monday morning.
PSEG has provided no information as to what parts of Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook it will be restoring on any given day, nor is it known what small pockets of each town will remain in the dark through Saturday.

It says customers. That doesn't necessarily mean houses. Could be commercial as well.

Hey Zak..I great big Tip of my Hat for all your reporting this past week on Sandy...The articles have been so complete and fact worthy, I know it must of taken a lot of time and research...and it was the fastest news about what was happening - going to happen, that one could ever want & need....Thank You!!!

The power just came back on in the area of Saddle River Road & Fair Lawn Avenue. I would like to thank the 3 trucks from Florida that put my power back on because PSEG wasn't going to do it.

Obviously, PSE&G just didn't have the manpower to deal with all the downed lines in every single town.

And no one is even talking about making improvements in electric infrastructure to make power lines more resilient. Storms like that are likely to happen more often in the future. Perhaps it is time to think of moving power lines underground? They look ugly and precarious on those ancient wooden polls; some of them are not even straight yet.

yes but there should be a plan in place for each and every block as to how to recover it. this is taking way too long already and i have no generator nor the spare change for this. This is a failure of government plain and simple starting at the top heavy I mean top.

Zak is reporting ok but not investigative enough. we were told Sunday midnight all of Fair Lawn would be back. What is the point of making these bombastic forecasts and not keeping them? It makes it worse. Zak has a story about this Sunday forecast.
