Metromix, a footwear and outerwear warehouse store that opened three weeks ago on Broadway, held its grand opening ceremony Friday.

The company, which has one other location in Edgewater, offers a wide selection of name brand shoes for men, women and children, as well as outerwear from North Face and Patagonia. As a warehouse store, Metromix is able to offer cheaper price points for its goods than other retailers, store manager Stephanie Nye said.

Nye, who spent five years working at the Village Tannery in Ridgewood, said Metromix distinguishes itself through its excellent customer service and attentive staff, some of whom are Fair Lawn residents.

She said the company chose to expand to Broadway with hopes of revitalizing the strip and helping the area. The company is still working on spreading the word and doing local promotions, but Nye said that business thus far has been decent.

For the next several weeks and likely running into the holidays, Metromix will be holding a grand opening sale. 

The store, located at 25-15 Broadway, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
