Local Fire Departments Stage Drill at Midland Park Lumber Yard [Photos]
Traffic was affected in Midland Park Sunday morning
Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Ridgewood and Fair Lawn fire departments were among a number of local emergency responders participating in a live fire drill in Midland Park Sunday morning.
Kuiken Brothers Lumber Yard on Lake Avenue between Goffle Road and Cottage Street billowed in smoke while numerous fire departments stretched hoses and sprayed water from atop a number of sky-high fire apparatuses.
A smoke machine in a shed simulated the fire in the lumber yard, said Ridgewood Fire Chief Jim Van Goor said.
Midland Park, Oakland, Ho-Ho-Kus and Hawthorne's Fire Departments were also on scene Sunday morning.
