Pizza Delivery Driver Clips Pedestrian on Welcome Road

A DonnaGio's Pizzeria driver hit a Saddle Brook woman who was trying to cross Welcome Road Wednesday night.

A Saddle Brook resident was struck by a Jeep Wednesday night while attempting to cross Welcome Road, police said.

The 64-year-old female resident was walking east on Welcome Road at Market Street just after 7:30 p.m. when she was clipped by the vehicle's driver's side mirror as it turned from Market Street onto Welcome Road, Police Chief Bob Kugler said.

The woman suffered a minor injury to her face/lip area and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for further evaluation, Kugler said.

The driver, who was in the process of delivering food from DonnaGio's Pizzeria at the time of the accident, has not been issued a citation at this time.
