The Fair Lawn Jewish Center/Congregation B'nai Israel kicked off its Purim celebration Sunday with its first ever Purim 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile Walk, in which runners were encouraged to come in costume.

The men's 5K winner was Alex Levine, who finished the course with a time of 20:38. Gloria Huberman won the women's 5K, clocking in at 23:24.

The event raised more than $2,000 for special needs programs at Camp Ramah.

This Sunday, FLJC/CBI will hold its annual Purim Carnival from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The entire community is invited to attend the carnival festivities and dress in costume.
