Resident Raising Donations for Hurricane Sandy Victims

Residents who would like to make donations can drop them off at the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad building on Romaine Street, next to Fair Lawn High School.

 

Fair Lawn resident Wendy Steinberg is putting together donations for both local residents and South Jersey residents in desperate need after Hurricane Sandy.

Steinberg, who is in discussions with Bed Bath & Beyond and Target about providing blankets, pillows, clothing and other desperately needed items to affected residents, is also collecting donations from local residents who can afford to give.

Locally, the new Pet Supplies Plus store in the Radburn shopping center donated dog food, and the CVS stores in Radburn and Wyckoff gave baby formula, diapers and toilet paper, Steinberg said.

The Fair Lawn Rescue Squad has generously offered to house the donations at its facility and deliver them to the Jersey Shore community of Point Pleasant.

Anyone wishing to donate new unopened supplies that could be used by those affected can drop them off at the Rescue Squad building, located at 16-01 Romaine Street, next to Fair Lawn High School's rear parking lot. If no one is at the building when you arrive, you are welcome to leave the donations at the front door.

Because so many donations have already been received and they are ready to transport, the last day donations will be collected is Wednesday, Nov. 7.

I realize you don't want to leave outside in front of bldg
the rescue squad is well aware that donations will be left outside by the front door! It is okay to leave them there. Someone should be there I would try 10:00am - 4:00pm
