Son Pulls Father From Burning Saddle Brook House, Both Hospitalized
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A Saddle Brook man and his son were both hospitalized after a fire spread through the Oxford Avenue home they share shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, Saddle Brook Fire Chief Bob Meyers said.
Robert Myerjack, Jr. was outside in the backyard of the home when the fire broke out, but ran back in to save his elderly father, according to Myerjack, Jr.'s niece, Jessica Davidson. A neighbor called 911.
Davidson said both men were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with minor burns.
"My uncle has some burns on his neck but nothing serious, thankfully," she said. "It could have been a lot worse, but fortunately my uncle was able to pull my grandfather out from the burning house."
Firefighters battled the blaze for about an hour before getting the flames under control, said Chief Meyers, who called damage to the interior of the home "pretty extensive," and said it was not habitable.
"Most of the house is destroyed," Davidson said. "[It's] very sad."
The cause of the fire had not yet been determined Thursday morning.
