State Seizes Daniella's Track Side Grille For Non-Payment of Taxes
Daniella's Track Side Grille, a longtime Fair Lawn family restaurant and bar, was seized by the state on Oct. 11 for non-payment of taxes and its future remains uncertain.
Daniella's Track Side Grille, a popular Plaza Road restaurant and bar known for its steaks and salads, has been closed since Thursday with a bright orange state seizure notice taped to its door.
"The personal property contained herein has been seized pursuant to N.J.S.A 54:49-13a for non-payment of New Jersey state taxes," the notice reads.
Joanne Graziano, the restaurant's manager, did not wish to discuss the property's seizure at this time, but said the company's stakeholders "were working on a solution," to re-open. In recent months, Track Side had reduced its operation to five days per week.
According to state tax records, Morton H. Kinzler owns the strip mall that contains the restaurant. The borough tax collector's office confirmed that the building's property taxes are up-to-date, which a tax office employee said suggests the seizure was made for unpaid income taxes.
A representative from the state's Department of the Treasury was not available for comment.
