Heavy Winds Bring Down Trees, Wires in Fair Lawn
As of 8:45 p.m., between 1 and 500 homes are without power in Fair Lawn, according to PSE&G's outage map.
A brief, but powerful storm that swept through Fair Lawn late Saturday afternoon downed trees and wires all over town, leaving roads blocked and properties without power.
Dozens of split trees and branches litter the streets around town, but the only roads that remain impassable are Prospect Street at Jasper Road and Rutgers Terrace at Ruskin Road, which have been taped off, police said.
A few intersections in Radburn -- namely Alden Terrace at High Street and Alden Terrace at Howard Avenue -- are partially blocked
Sgt. Lonnie Mergler said a number of businesses on Broadway lost power, including the Dunkin' Donuts, but that he'd had no resident report outages. As of 8:45 p.m., between 1 and 500 homes are without power in the borough, according to PSE&G's outage map.
