Check out the difference from when the arboretum was just getting off the ground (Wayne Robbins' video) to the present day video. In both, Garden Commtitee member Jim Vanderbeck discusses how Fair Lawn's Arboretum came to fruition and offers a brief tour and explanation of some of the trees and bushes that have been planted.

For information on Fair Lawn's bird sanctuary, which is adjacent to the arboretum, check out this video made last fall by Cornell Christianson.

Mr. Vanderbeck has served the residents of Fair Lawn for many years and it is wonderful to see him continuing his work in his retirement. Kudos to him and all those helping him keep Fair Lawn beautiful! Thank you.

Nice videos Zak and Wayne. The Fair Lawn Bird Sanctuary is actually in bad shape right now, looks nothing like it did in the video I shot last summer. It took a severe hit from the Halloween snow storm. Trees and branches came down every where and bushes were leveled. The Parks Dept finally piled up the fallen trees so they could cut the grass, but the fallen trees remain there. The bushes are slowly recovering. But the deer keep coming, looking for food.
