Volunteer To Make a Cleaner, Greener Fair Lawn
The Fair Lawn Recycling Division will hold its second litter clean up day of 2013.
Volunteers are needed for the Fair Lawn Recycling Division's second of three litter clean-up events scheduled for Saturday, May 18.
For helping to beautify Fair Lawn, volunteers receive free t-shirts, gloves, bags and breakfast. The clean-up work also counts as community service hours.
To register as a volunteer, call (201)-794-5304 at least three days prior to the clean up day to assure room on the bus. Volunteers will meet at the Recycling Office at 20-05 Saddle River Road for the clean up event, which will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The bus leaves promptly at 9 a.m.
If you are unable to participate in the formal clean-up event, the borough asks that you consider taking a pledge to clean up your street, a nearby park, a storm drain in front of your home or the sidewalk in front of your business.
A subsequent litter pick up day is scheduled for Oct. 5.
