VOTE: The Most Beautiful House in Fair Lawn
List-maker extraordinaire Cornell Christianson searched Fair Lawn far and wide for the most beautiful houses and a panel of 18 experts have helped whittle down his choices to a Top 10. Now it's your turn to vote for who's No. 1.
Fair Lawn’s “rank-order specialist” Cornell Christianson, whose previous lists included 10 Scariest Halloween Houses in Fair Lawn and 10 Best Christmas Decorations in Fair Lawn, is back with the 10 Most Beautiful Houses in Fair Lawn.
Christianson searched the town high and low and selected 40 semi-finalist houses of which he took pictures and displayed to a panel of 18 experts that included architects, historians, realtors, teachers, senior citizens, and some teenagers and children.
Those houses with the most expert votes became the Top 10. Now it’s up to you to decide the top three winners, who will get an added write-up about their beautiful abode on Patch.
What’s your choice for the Most Beautiful House in Fair Lawn? Not the house you most want to own or live in. The house with the most beautiful front exterior -- and landscape counts.
In his quest to find the most beautiful houses, Christianson also came up with his list of the Three Most Beautiful Streets of Houses in Fair Lawn -- Owen Avenue, Bellair Avenue and Well Drive.
The voting will take place all week until Friday at 5 p.m.
Did Christianson miss any houses that you think should be in the Top 10? Tell us in the comments.

How do we know if he missed any without seeing the 40 that he selected? The list of 10 is really the list decided by the "experts" not by Cornell Christiansen

@Carl If there's a house in town that you think deserves consideration -- whether it was included in his top 40 or not -- then let me know.

Would Trawinski's house qualify, or does it need to be in Fair Lawn?

BTW, where did you get the picture of House 3? This house has not been properly upkept since the Thimmel's sold it, this house not worthy of the contest.

The house on Saddle River Road looks like it needs sooooo much work when you drive by it!

I know the people that used to own that house. They bought it many years ago and re-did the entire house. It is gorgeous inside but I do agree whoever owns it now needs to give it a little TLC!!

I think our soon to be former congressman's house should get a special mention. Rothman's departure was a substantial improvement to our neighborhood and increased property values for all of us.

So why isn't the 1/2 built mansion on Fair Lawn Ave not in the top 10. Now that is one beautiful disaster which our zoning bored obviosly let slip by. Will it be some what finished anytime soon or is that the look they are going for?

The funny thing about that house is that Baratta lives next door; literally.

I believe that that house is next door to The Baratta Family home. Does that make it ok? I drive past there all the time and it is now in my book Skull Mansion. Who approved this. And now the house has not been worked on in atleast 4-5 months.

My house is definitely nicer than all posted here, but I will not make it public.

All of these houses would be much better if the borough properly assesed them at their true values rather than just to keep people from appealing their taxes!

I totally agree with Harold !!! The house on Saddle River Roads looks like horrible now - who picked these houses. It doesn't look like the picture when you see it in person.

Was consideration given to streets and houses in the Dunkerhook section? Namely- Landzettel Way, Fox Ct, Cosgrove Ct, DeBruin Dr, Goldblatt Terr, Moss Rd. In my opinion any street or home in this part of Fair Lawn is worthy of being included.

@Maximus -- It's not the largest or the most expensive houses, it's the "most beautiful" -- whatever that might mean to the people who chose them. I know personally when I'm looking at them I prefer ones that are unique to ones that are colossal

Maybe you should rephrase it to "Most Charming" houses? LOVE the house Lambert Road, have always admired it!

Looks like Lambert Road is asking everyone to vote. Clearly, there are much better looking homes in Fair Lawn. A few of these I'd keep in the contest. I agree - change the title to 'Most Charming' vs most beautiful. The Morlot and Bedford homes I'd keep on the list. The rest, no. But they do have clean yards! Ha!

I don't know when these pics were taken but the house on E. Amsterdam does NOT look like that now, it's a dilapidated eyesore at best.
