Week Ahead: Senior Housing Meetings, Spelling Bee, Drug Takeback

  • Monday, April 22 (Earth Day)
  1. The Saddle Brook Township Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss the senior housing redevelopment plan.
  2. Fair Lawn Schools Superintendent Bruce Watson will give a presentation on the new school report cards at 8 p.m. at Edison School Room 19.
  • Tuesday, April 23
    1. Fair Lawn borough council will hold a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m in Borough Hall Council Chambers. Click here for the meeting agenda.
    2. Saddle Brook Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
    • Wednesday, April 24
    1. St. Anne's will host the Autism Speaks Walk-a-Thon from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    2. The Saddle Brook Township Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss the senior housing redevelopment plan.
    3. The Fair Lawn Rotary Spelling Bee Finals will be held at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center.
    4. Master Gardener Daphne Boss Ayalon will host a Composting Workshop at the Fair Lawn Community Center at 7:30 p.m. 
    • Thursday, April 25
    1. Saddle Brook Falcons Lacrosse is holding a fundraiser at Let's Yo in Paramus from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visit the Let's Yo location on Route 17 in Paramus with the attached flyer and the Saddle Brook Falcons Lacrosse program will get 10 percent of any sale. 
    2. Fair Lawn High School is holding its Senior Prom at 6 p.m.
    3. Fair Lawn Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Edison School Room 19.

    1. St. Anne Stages present “Jersey Sings: Raising Our Voices to Lend a Hand”

    • Saturday, April 27
    1. The Fair Lawn Police Department in coordination with the Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a drug take-back program at Borough Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your expired, unused or unwanted medications for disposal. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
    2. St. Anne Stages present “Jersey Sings: Raising Our Voices to Lend a Hand”

    • Sunday, April 28 
    1. The Chai Riders will take their first motorcycle ride of the season on Sunday. The event begins with registration, bagels and lox from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Temple Beth Sholom of Fair Lawn parking lot. The donation for this event is $20 per bike and $10 per passenger.
