Woman Struck By Car on 20th Street

A 37-year-old Fair Lawn woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after being hit by a car while crossing 20th Street at Fair Lawn Avenue, police said.

A Fair Lawn woman was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being struck by a car while crossing 20th Street at Fair Lawn Avenue, police said.

The 37-year-old resident was walking east across 20th Street at 7:24 a.m. when a westbound Chevrolet TrailBlazer hit her as it turned left from Fair Lawn Avenue onto 20th Street, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries to her head and legs and was taken to Valley Hospital, the sergeant said.

The accident remains under investigation as police determine if the woman was in the crosswalk when she was struck and whether the driver, a 58-year-old Fair Lawn woman, will be issued a summons, Metzler said.
