Follow Me To Fitness Motivation!

You see random people everyday  walking.. running.. biking.  Do you look at them and think 'tomorrow I will start'? What does it take to motivate them to start?   What is it that makes them get up at 5:00am and run in the dark.  (I know you secretly think they are nuts).   What would it take to make you "Get Motivated?"

Well,  I am one of those crazies. I get up at the crack of dawn and put on my running shoes and hit the street.  For me, my motivation is my sanity. That is the truth. Okay, there are a few other benefits like healthy heart and lungs and keeping my body in shape so I can whoop  yours into shape! Running for me is my time to just let go of the world and be free for  as long as the distance I am running that day,  and the feeling I attain when its complete.   For me my motivation is making sure I get it done.. because I know how I will feel when its over, and that my friends is FANTASTIC!!!  What motivates YOU???

My girlfriend and I have been walking the GSP most mornings at 6 am since the first week of the new year. Our motivation comes from each other. I'm finding I am so much more consistant with my exersize when I have a friend to do it with. (Plus I am motivated to lose the weight I gained from quitting smoking 3 years ago)

I photograph a lot of fitness competitors over the years. Competitors from local competitions to the boy and girl next door. NOT that I want to look like them but I can see the passion they have for what they do, just like I do for photography and it makes me want to get in SOME sort of shape that isn't round.
Then once I get started and realize the energy that I have from it, THAT is what motivates me to continue.

Monica, That is great keep up the great work.... and good for you with quitting smoking! That is HUGE!!! be very proud of that and keep this in mind also.. now you are picking up a new habit.. a good habit that is EXCERCISE ;) KEEP SMILING!!!

PATRICK, I love your comment about the shape being something other than "round" I like to use this quote.. when referring to attending my classes... "be there or be round" ha ha.!!! I also find motivation in fitness competitors It takes a lot of dedication and will power to compete.

I think you are absolutely correct, I was one of those people who always looked at the motivated as if they were off in some way, not wanting to admit that I actually admired them and wished I had that kind of commitment. You have that commitment and dedication and its what makes you good at what you.

Keep up the good work!!

Hi Chris:

What motivates me is looking good in my clothes, but also the fact that, after suffering a heart attack at age 34 back in 1996, I'm still here.
