The rescue dogs and cats at the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. and Pascack Valley Meals On Wheels programs are in need of essential supplies. So, the organizations are asking residents to ‘Pause for Paws’ during a pet supply drive happening December 15 through January 31. According to a flier sent out by the agencies, items needed include: wet or dry food in original, sealed containers, dog and cat treats, toys, collars, and brushes, dog leashes and crates, cat carriers, scrating posts, litter boxes and scoops, general cleaning supplies, bedding, blankets, towels, printer paper, envelopes …

The Bergen County Animal Shelter is "quite full these days," according to one staff member, and they have decided to run a special pet adoption program to place many of these pets in loving homes.  "Your Price is Right" allows those interested in adopting a pet to set their own fee, with a minimum $10 donation required. The promotion runs through Sept. 15. "We are eliminating our normal adoption fees and asking our adopters to choose what price you feel is right to adopt a pet," according to a flyer issued by the shelter.
