With March ending, April brings a new month with another concert from the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club. This month's show, set for 8 p.m. Saturday at the Fair Lawn Community Center, features former Fair Lawn resident Christine DeLeon opening for James Keelaghan, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Keelaghan said that he is performing three shows in the United States before heading to do a tour in Western Canada. Fair Lawn's Old Library Theatre is presenting its final weekend of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella from Friday to Sunday at the Fair Lawn Community Center. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees are 2 p.m. General admission is $20, students and seniors are $18, and children under 12 are $10. The League of Women Voters of Fair Lawn is sponsoring a showing of "Waiting for Superman," a film that undertakes an exhaustive review of public education, on Saturday, March 19, beginning at 1 p.m. at the public library. "Waiting for Superman" analyzes the failures of American public education by following several students through the educational system. In this book you will meet the ladies of the Grasse Quilting Circle. On Saturday March 5 at 8 p.m., the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club will present Tony Trischka and Territory at the Fair Lawn Community Center. Opening the evening will be Paul Friedman and Jody Kruskal. Trischka is "regarded by fans as perhaps the most influential banjo player in the roots music world," according to the Hurdy Gurdy club.
