The Fair Lawn Democratic Organization and the Fair Lawn Democratic Municipal Committee will be sponsoring a meeting on August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. to be held at the Fair Lawn Senior Center.

 

The guest speaker will be Ben Dworkin (BA Politics - Princeton 1990, MA Political Science – Rutgers/Eagleton Institute of Politics 1992, Currently Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Rutgers) is the Director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Political Science. A veteran of New Jersey politics, he has extensive experience in campaigns and elections, government and legislation, lobbying and issue advocacy, as well as teaching and media relations. He has been frequently quoted by major newspapers including the Philadelphia Inquirer, Star-Ledger, Press of Atlantic City, Asbury Park Press, the Home News-Tribune and others. He is also a frequent guest on NJ12’s “Power & Politics” television news program.

 

As always, all Democrats are invited to get involved and attend. Refreshments will be served. All who will be attending are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items which will be donated to the food pantry. The borough's senior center offers social activities, fitness, special clubs and other services such as driving classes and blood pressure screenings to residents ages 60 and up. There are no membership dues. On weekdays at noon, the center serves a nutritious full-course meal to seniors for a suggested $1.25 donation. Fitness programs offered include ballroom dancing, line dancing, karate and various other types of exercise. The center also offers day trips to Atlantic City. Facilities include a conference room, game room and billiards room. The center is located just one block from borough hall, and is easily accessible to free public transportation.
