Episcopal Church of the Atonement, Fair Lawn Offers Solar Screening Event

Opportunity for Homeowners to “Go Solar” at No Cost

 On Sunday, June 10^th from 10:30 AM to 1 PM, GreenFaith – an interfaith environmental coalition – and AP Solar will offer a Solar Screening Event at the Episcopal Church of the Atonement, Fair Lawn.  This event offers homeowners the chance to be screened for a zero-cost solar installation that would provide them with discounted electricity.  “We’re excited to host this event and invite all members of the community to join us to see if their roof is suitable for solar,” said The Rev. Kevin Coffey, Rector of Church of the Atonement.

At the Screening Event, there will be a monitor set up enabling interested homeowners to have their home screened via satellite photos to see if their roof appears to be suitable for solar.  “It’s an enjoyable, interesting way to learn about solar power,” said Rev. Fletcher Harper, GreenFaith’s Executive Director.  “We’re eager to work with faith-based sites around New Jersey to identify homeowners whose home qualifies for this great opportunity.”

For every home that successfully goes solar through this Solar Screening Event and related on-line registration, GreenFaith and AP Solar will make a $200 contribution to Church of the Atonement.  “We believe in giving back to the community,” said AP Solar CEO John Hooper.  “We believe in solar power, and in the importance of the faith community.”

This offer is open to all New Jersey homeowners and the public is welcome to this event.  Church of the Atonement is located at 1-36^th Street, Fair Lawn, NJ (at the corner of Rosalie and 3oth St. – behind Jack Daniels Kia and across from Warren Point School.)

For those who cannot be at the Screening Event, homeowners can register on-line at www.greenfaith.org to have their roof evaluated.
