Affordable Senior Housing Planned in Saddle Brook

The Saddle Brook Planning Board is scheduled to begin hearing the application for the plan during their meeting Tuesday night.

A former Saddle Brook nursing home could be replaced with affordable senior housing, if the plan is approved by township officials.

The Saddle Brook Planning Board is scheduled to begin hearing an application for the project at 29 Caldwell Ave. and 32 Hickey Terrace during their meeting Tuesday night.

The property is currently owned by the township and was slated for redevelopment by an ordinance passed by the council this spring.

The Housing Authority of Bergen County would demolish the current building on the site and build a new 29,500-square-foot, two-story building with 30 affordable housing apartments.

The board meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in town hall.
