Northern New Jersey Woman-Owned Business Takes Part in Senator Cory Booker's Women's Small Business Owners Forum Panel

Marlene Bauer Pissott, President of InGroup, Inc., and Founder of WebSwagger.com, a marketing, outreach communications, public relations, and Web agency located in Northern New Jersey, was recently selected to serve on a panel for Senator Cory Booker’s Women’s Small Business Owners Forum. The April 11th forum at Rutgers’ Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy highlighted resources available to women business owners and included  two other discussions targeting government contracting and access to capital. The participants shared advice and information to help attendees confront the challenges head-on of running a small business and networking using the many resources available to support entrepreneurs in building successful companies.  The New Jersey Small Business Development Center, SCORE, and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses were all programs that the various panelists had accessed at different points in their successful business life cycles.

The panel was moderated by Linda Wellbrock, Founder and CEO of Leading Women Entrepreneurs, LLC, which is an initiative to commend women entrepreneurs for their service and  leadership as well as their contributions to their communities and to the state’s economic recovery. The five panelists  included Ms. Pissott;  Tina Wynn, COO and one of two principals at The Brown Wynn Agency; Patricia Claybrook, President and CEO of Jidan Cleaning;  Liz Berman, President of Continental Food and Beverage, Inc. (CF&B); and  Kiran Gill, President of PARS Environmental, Inc.

Ms. Pissott completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative--a $500 million national program designed to help small businesses in the United States create jobs and promote economic growth. As a certified New Jersey and New York State small and women-owned business, InGroup, Inc., is both qualified and certified to work with local and state agencies as a prime contractor subcontractor in  leading  public participation, education, and engagement activities for local, state, and federal agencies. “10,000 Small Businesses provided me with a renewed leadership perspective and, as a result, on completing the program in February 2013, revenue grew 64 percent—and we are on-track to exceed our growth goals for 2014,” said Ms. Pissott. Ms. Wynn and Ms. Claybrook were also alumni of 10,000 Small Businesses.
