Radburn Players to Present the Pulitzer Prize-Winning Drama

The Radburn Players will present Jason Miller’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony-winning drama That Championship Season, on May 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at 8 pm, and Sunday May 4 at 2pm, at the Radburn Association Grange Hall, 29-20 Fair Lawn Avenue in Fair Lawn. Tickets can be purchased before each performance at $15 for adults ($10 for members) and $12 for students and seniors.

Directed by Natalie Ross, That Championship Season a fascinating examination of five deeply flawed men and the darker aspects of small-town American society in decades past. It occurs 20 years after a stunning 1952 state basketball championship, when the winning coach and four of his former players get together for a reunion in in a small Pennsylvania town. Hopelessly out of step with the times, they reveal their raw social prejudices, bigotry and fear as they attempt to justify the current state of their lives. Then, when unexpected conflicts come to a head, they are forced to confront the truth about themselves. The play stars Eric Heppel, Shawn Kane, Michael J. Rogers, Michael Roney and David Sparano.

Founded in 1930, The Radburn Players is one of the oldest continually operating theater groups in New Jersey. For more information, call (201) 873-5570 or visit www.radburnplayers.com.
