March of Dimes Beneficiary Walking for Near and Dear Cause

The Zack Pack is back!

Zachary Stein, a special needs senior at Fair Lawn High School, and his father, Bob, will once again participate in the March of Dimes March for Babies this year on April 28 at Wayne Hills High School. 

The four-mile walk, which begins at the high school and then winds through the neighborhoods of Wayne, serves as a celebration of the premature babies that have been saved and honors the premature babies that have been lost.

It has special meaning to the Steins.

Zack, now 18, was born five-and-a-half weeks premature and spent his earliest days receiving treatment in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit developed from March of Dimes research. For the past 15 years, he and his family have participated in the March for Babies to give back and help raise awareness and research funding for premature births.

"[Zack] has had numerous operations over the years, therapies, missed milestones and developmental delays, but that has helped shape him into the wonderful kid he is today," Bob Stein said.

This year, Zack and Bob Stein, known as the "Zack Pack," are shooting to raise $2,500 for the March of Dimes. So far, the team has garned $585 in donations.
