Walk Raises Funds to Combat Lou Gehrig’s Disease [PHOTOS]

The annual ALS Association Walk in Saddle Brook featured nearly 100 teams supporting efforts to find a cure for the disease.

More than 1,600 people went to Saddle River Park in Saddle Brook Sunday for the ALS Association's ninth annual "walk to defeat ALS."

The event featured almost 100 teams from Bergen County and the surrounding area.

The ALS Association Greater New York chapter has raised more than $1 million over the years toward finding a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. There are about 30,000 Americans who currently have the disease, for which there is not yet a known cure.
