'Legendary Local of Fair Lawn' Authors Plan Signings

The book written by borough historian Jane Lyle Diepeveen and writer Cornell Christianson will be released Feb. 3.

A new book that highlights people from Fair Lawn's history is due out Feb. 3, and its authors have scheduled several book signings around the area.

The book, "Legendary Locals of Fair Lawn," was written by borough historian Jane Lyle Diepeveen and writer Cornell Christianson. It features profiles and photos of various noteworthy people, like "kiddie zoo" owner Bill Dietch, actress Millie Perkins, NBA coach Hubie Brown, as well as many local athletes, leaders, business owners and others.

The authors will hold their first signing at the Columbia Bank on Plaza Road from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 20. Mayor John Cosgrove, Sen. Bob Gordon and bank CEO Thomas Kemly are also scheduled to speak at the event.

Signings will also be held at Benny's March 2, B&B International Food March 15, the Dutch House April 19, the Fair Lawn Library May 3 and the Cadmus House May 18.
