Indigenous Textile Photography Exhibit Opens March 10

Dr. Richard P Wedeen, a local physician, will have some of his photographs displayed at the Fair Lawn public library from March 10 through April 27.

An area doctor's photographs of textiles from around the world will be on display at the Fair Lawn Library's Pine Gallery from March 10 through April 27.

Dr. Richard P. Wedeen's exhibit, "Native Arts: Photographs and Textiles from Africa, Asia and Latin America," features images of indigenous textiles derived from ancestral designs that capture the vitality of a variety of world cultures.

Wedeen, a professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, said he's endlessly fascinated by trying to capture people engaged in daily and ceremonial activities with their traditional fabrics.
