'Phantom of the Opera' Actress to Headline Bergen Concert

Michele McConnell will join performers from other Broadway shows for a Skyline concert this Friday.

A Phantom of the Opera actress is set to headline a star-studded Broadway performance in Bergen County Friday night.

Michele McConnell, who has been the star of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway since 2011, is set to headline the Skyline Theatre Company’s Concert of Stars: Celebrating the Music of Broadway’s Jewish Legends, Skyline announced in a release Wednesday. The show is happening at 7 p.m. Friday at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in Fair Lawn.

McConnell will join actors from Broadway’s Mary Poppins and Wicked to perform the music of Gershwin, Sondheim, Kern, Berlin, Strouse, Shaiman and more.

According to the release, McConnell has been president of the Skyline Board of Trustees since 2012. She is a northern NJ resident who has performed in musical theatre, opera, concerts, cabarets, professional choruses, and touring productions. She is also an adjunct faculty member in the Musical Theatre department at New Jersey City University.

Friday night’s concert includes a cocktail hour, hors d’oeuvres, wine and desserts, raffle baskets, and a silent auction of NY Giants tickets.
