More Than 1,800 Help Spencer Savings Bank Kick Off Its Annual Movies Under the Stars Series
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (June 23, 2014) – Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, NJ kicked off its popular annual Movies Under the Stars series with back-to-back events in Garfield and Wallington. More than 1,800 residents attended the two free screenings, which took place June 14 in Wallington and June 20 in Garfield.
“As the summer gets underway, the local community has shown great support for these family-friendly events,” said Janel Bazih, AVP & Marketing Manager for Spencer. “The events are great fun for all involved, and we look forward to additional screenings throughout the Summer and Fall.”

In both locations, the blockbuster Disney animated hit “Frozen” drew in the crowds. The animated comedic coming-of-age tale follows Anna, who must find her Elsa to save the Kingdom of Arendelle from never-ending winter. Many know the film for its popular song “Let It Go.”

Spencer partnered with the Wallington Little League and the Wallington Lions Club to present the first movie night of the season. Roughly 800 community residents came out to the Wallington Little League Field to view the movie. The second movie night took place at the Belmont Oval in Garfield, with nearly 1,000 people in attendance. The bank partnered with the Garfield YMCA and the City of Garfield to bring this event to the community. Both movie nights centered on community and family-friendly programming, with refreshments, giveaways, fresh popcorn, raffles and other fun rounding out the evening. In addition, the Garfield event included face-painting and a bounce house.
Additional movie screenings are planned for Wood-Ridge on July 16, Garwood on September 19, and Elmwood Park on September 26.
