Giant Utility Poles Go Up on Fair Lawn Ave
The new 65-foot-tall wooden utility poles look almost double in size on Fair Lawn Avenue. To some people, they are "scary", even "monster-like". PSE&G says they are needed to withstand the new superstorms we have recently been experiencing. Three in the last 4 years, when there were no superstorms like these ever before.
They are do to Global Warming with two forces colliding in New Jersey to create them here. The rise in temperature of the ocean causes hurricanes to hold more water volume. The melting of the Arctic causes the northern streams of air to drop closer to New Jersey and when they confront a hurricane, you get the new superstorm like Sandy. Telephone poles are knocked down and we lose power for a week or more.
