The majority of the month's top stories -- from power restoration estimates to the rescheduling of Halloween to election polling station changes -- came the first week after Superstorm Sandy when significant portions of both Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook were still without power. As such, I've lumped those under the single umbrella category, "Superstorm Sandy Coverage."

A Fair Lawn man was convicted on charges he molested his ex-girlfriend's 15-month-old daughter during a barbecue he hosted in June of 2007, allegedly using his finger to molest the child with such force that she suffered significant bleeding that required corrective surgery.

Twenty-year school board veteran Eugene Banta and newcomers Jeff Klein and Mark Spindel were the three top vote-getters in the November Board of Education election. Spindel's win was too close to call on election night, but was later soldified after absentee ballots were counted.

Just when things were finally starting to get back to normal following Sandy, a nor'easter came to town and slowed the recovery process. Aside from some temporary power outages, a night of perfect packing snow and a morning of school delays, the winter storm's impact was, thankfully, minimal.
