Saddle Brook Chinese Restaurant Burglarized

A burglar made off with approximately $700 from the East Wok Chinese Restaurant on Market Street early Monday morning, police said

Saddle Brook police are investigating an overnight burglary at East Wok Chinese Restaurant on Market Street.

The owner of East Wok arrived to work Monday morning to find the restaurant's Plexiglass front door cut open and removed, police said. Approximately $700 was taken from the cash register and an area nearby where the restaurant stores coins, according to a police statement.

Police believe the burglary likely occurred early Monday morning, after business closed the night before, Chief Bob Kugler said.

The Sheriff's Office's Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted Saddle Brook police in securing evidence. Fingerprint impressions were taken at the scene, but turned up nothing ample enough to positively identify a suspect at this time, Kugler said.
