High School Teacher From Fair Lawn Indicted on Sex Charges

A 27-year-old Clifton High School teacher who grew up in Fair Lawn and attended Fair Lawn High School was indicted on sexual assault charges stemming from two sexual encounters she allegedly had this April with one of her male students.

Fair Lawn LukOil Ups Prices to $9.99 Per Gallon

To protest their company's "anti-competitive" pricing policies, LukOil station owners across New Jersey staged a protest by bumping up prices. At LukOil in Fair Lawn, gas went for $9.99 per gallon.

Police Investigating Body Found Outside Warren Road Residence

A man, later identified as Donald Borodkin, was found dead on the front porch of a Warren Road residence, directly behind the Radburn Panera  parking lot

Borodkin, a Plaza Road resident, had been walking door to door handing out flyers for an upcoming Daly Field meeting when he collapsed. His death was not considered suspicious.

A driver traveling northbound on Route 208 lost control of his vehicle due to slick road conditions, struck the divider and flipped over, police said. He escaped serious injury but was transported to the hospital with back pain.

Fair Lawn Man Charged in Road Rage Incident

Seryy Alejsiy, 20, was charged with simple assault and criminal mischief after a road rage incident at Bergen Community College where he allegedly spit and hit a limo driver and then smashed the driver's car with a baseball bat, police said.

Car Bursts Into Flames on Route 4 Overpass

A mechanical malfunction caused a car to burst into flames while traveling along the Route 4 overpass in the area of Route 208 in Fair Lawn, authorities said. The car's driver and lone occupant was not injured in the fire.

Trawinski Says Facebook Page Was Hacked

Deputy Mayor Ed Trawinski's Facebook profile was updated in late July to reflect a move to Little Ferry, prompting some residents to question whether the deputy mayor had illegally abandoned his constituents. 

Route 208 Crash Sends 1 to Hospital

A two-car accident on Route 208 West near the Saddle River Road exit sent one person to the hospital and closed the highway for about 35 minutes, police said. An occupant in one of the vehicles was taken to Valley Hospital with a head laceration and both cars involved, a Jeep and a Mazda, took major damage and were towed from the scene.

Fair Lawn Adding New Police Officer

The Fair Lawn Police Department, down to 54 officers since the resignation of Juan Rodriguez in late June, swore in former Paterson officer Anthony Burgos this month.
