DAVID MASSENGILL IN CONCERT AT THE BORDERLINE

Announcing
our opening concert for 2014 featuring the legendary folksinger and songwriter,
DAVID MASSENGILL.  It will take place on
Sunday, January 19th at the New City Voulunteer Ambulance Corps, 200
– Congers Road, New City, NY 10956.  The
concert is scheduled for 2:00 PM.  Doors
open at 1:30 PM.

A
superstar in the world of folk music, David Massengill came on the scene in the
1970s as part of the "fast folk" movement along with Christine Lavin,
Suzanne Vega, Paul Kaplan, Tom Intondi, Rod Macdonald, and the late Jack Hardy.
David writes and sings his songs in the traditional blues style as taught to
him by his mentor, the late great Dave Van Ronk. He was very close with Dave
Van Ronk and served as his roadie. The current Coen Brothers movie,
"Inside Llewyn Davis" deals with that particular time period.
David is an accomplished musician on both, the guitar as well as his original
instrument, the mountain dulcimer. His signature song is "The Great
American Dream". We at The Borderline are proud to have David Massengill
open our 2014 season. Westchester's Larry Kolker, a fantastic blues style
singer/songwriter and guitarist as well as a member of our club, will be
opening the show for David. Admission is $20 per person, ($15 for Borderline or
Pinewoods members), and we ask that you bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to
share with 4 other people. Please remember that we are an alcohol free venue.  We are also proud to announce that John Guth,
who did such fantastic sound for our Picnic last August will be our sound
engineer for the entire 2014 season.
