Fair Lawn Fire Co. 4 Wetdown

Volunteer
Fire Company to hold ‘Wetdown’ for new Engine

Fair Lawn — Join Fair Lawn Fire Company 4 as its
members introduce their new Engine to the community in a traditional “Wetdown.”
Fire Departments from all around the region will welcome the KME 750-gallon Pumper
by spraying the apparatus with their own fog nozzles in a jubilant series of
loud and boisterous “attacks.”

Featuring the legendary “Nerds” -- one of
New Jersey’s and New York’s best Rock ‘n’ Roll cover bands – Company 4’s
Wetdown will be held in Fair Lawn’s
Memorial Park
on Saturday, May 10,
from 1-5 p.m.
Admission is free, and so are the hamburgers, hot dogs and
soft drinks, but guests who want to enjoy beer must purchase Company 4’s commemorative
mug for $5.

Most Emergency Service Wetdowns -- for fire
trucks, rescue apparatus and ambulances -- are not promoted to the general
public, but Company 4 is inviting citizens young and old from Fair Lawn and Bergen County to celebrate the fire
apparatus that will protect residents throughout the region. Children should
wear bathing suits, as it’s not only the Engine that will get wet in the fun-filled
afternoon.
