Chamber of Commerce Donates to Opportunity Center

The Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce presented a $2,500 check to the Opportunity Center during their recent meeting.

The Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce presented the Opportunity Center with a $2,500 donation during their meeting this week.

The Opportunity Center, located on Fair Lawn Avenue, has been serving developmentally disabled adults for almost 50 years. They are currently working with around 25 or 30 clients to help them become more independent, according to Seymour Baumstein, the center's vice president.

The donated funds were raised by the chamber's annual golf outing, held August 15 at the Knoll Country Club's West Course in Parsippany. Additional money raised from the event will go to the Fair Lawn High School Scholarship Fund and other local charities.

For anyone looking to participate next year, mark your calendars — the Chamber holds the golf outing on the third Thursday of August each year.
